Text Encryption Tool
Encrypt a message with a password so only someone who knows the password can read it. Uses AES-256-GCM with a key derived by PBKDF2 (310,000 iterations) — standard, well-reviewed cryptography built into your browser.
How to share a secret safely
Encrypt the message here, send the encrypted text by email or chat, and give the password through a different channel — for example by phone or in person. Anyone who intercepts only one of the two learns nothing.
Choose a long, unique password; the encryption is only as strong as the password. For ongoing secret sharing in a team, a password manager with secure sharing is more convenient.
Frequently asked questions
Can you recover my text if I forget the password?
No. Nothing is stored and there is no back door. Without the password the text cannot be decrypted.
Is AES-256-GCM secure?
Yes. It is a widely used standard that also detects tampering — if the encrypted text is altered, decryption fails.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Encryption and decryption happen entirely in your browser with the Web Crypto API.
